A strange creature seemingly made entirely of tree roots moving of its own accord. Sometimes they form a figure capable of wielding weapons and even fighting a wandering warrior who enters the forest edges. Roots do no harm to animals or birds; moreover, they feed the forest's small inhabitants during hungry seasons. But treacherous Edera has turned them against humans and magmars, claiming they destroy trees and prevent their growth. Horrified at the thought that the sacred forest might vanish, the Rootlings declared merciless war on the residents of Ogry and Hair. |
